Review : IP Man - The Final Flight 2013

Last Time I went to watch GI Joe Retaliation but I prefer watch Ip Man : The Final Fight instead. I watch the premiere one.. >,< Yaaay.. ~ It is enjoyable movie with some great kung fu action. I love the storyline from Ip Man son and the fast pace timeline to show the life of Ip Man when he is getting older and the spreading of win chun martial art.

Director Herman Yau and producer Checkley Sin who were responsible for “The Legend Is Born – Ip Man” return to helm “Ip Man – The Final Fight”. Different from previous Ip Man films, “Ip Man – The Final Fight” will focus extensively on Ip Man’s final battle in his life, following the period from his forties to his death. Two-time Hong Kong Film Award Best Actor Anthony Wong will portray the titular character while Hong Kong Film Award Best Actress Anita Yuen will star as Ip Man’s wife.

Story started when Ip Man ( Anthony Wong Chau-Sang) got to Hong Kong and settled there, he teach Wing Chun to some of the workers there at the rooftop, but Hong Kong become chaotic when all the workers riots. Ip Man’s student start to use Wing Chun technique and spread the word for Wing Chun. Love the way the media bragging about Ip Man’s fight and power. The addition of Master Ng ( Eric Tsang ) as rival to Wing Chun also good story to make the storyline more interesting, but the relationship between the two teacher should be explore more. The fight between this two teacher between Ip Man and Master Ng is the best fight action in this movie, for me anyway. 

Ip Man relationship with his wife and the singer Jenny also bring some laughter to the audience. Sweet mattress story when they have to sleep on cold weather. The loss of the loved one and getting new love before lost it again.

Ip Man student formed from different background and worker. It bring so much emotion and story, the best must go to the policeman who do not know to choose which side he is. The student get married to each other and doing something secret to get money from the kung fu they learned. Also one of the student making international name and asked for Ip Man to make video.

The main bad ass guy on the story using the ice hook and his fast-hard kick to control a live in one of the town. He conquered all including the police. He make a living by gambling on fighter match. When one of the Wing Chun student win without lost, he tried to sabotage the game and things getting ugly. Ip Man has to stand up and fight for his student.

Ip Man : The Final Fight Plot : In postwar Hong Kong, legendary Wing Chun grandmaster Ip Man is reluctantly called into action once more, when what begin as simple challenges from rival kung fu styles soon draw him into the dark and dangerous underworld of the Triads. Now, to defend life and honor, he has no choice but to fight one last time.
